Knowledge Matters is passionate about technology, innovation, and education and is dedicated to inspiring today’s youth to pursue their goals and dreams. As part of this longstanding commitment, Knowledge Matters has offered scholarship opportunities for over a decade. Knowledge Matters also hosts competitions for several Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) for high school and college students, such as HOSA, to help students gain a better understanding of healthcare careers, such as dental assistant and medical assistant. Through this partnership, students will take part in HOSA’s Prepared Speaking and Speaking Skills competitive events. This competitive event is designed to motivate HOSA members to improve their knowledge and skills.
Knowledge Matters Sponsored Competitions
HOSA International Leadership Conference, June 18-21, 2025 – Nashville, TN
Sponsored Competition: Prepared Speaking (PS) Thursday, June 19, 10:00 am – 12:15 pm – Bayou E
Many students strive to have more confidence when speaking in front of groups of people, and for students entering the healthcare field, effective communication is a must. In this event, students utilize the Public Speaking 1a and Public Speaking 1b courses from eDynamic Learning to bring their speeches to life by learning about body language, vocal control, and other techniques. Using the wisdom and knowledge of famous speakers throughout history, while learning what it takes to make a great speech helps develop skills that will serve students throughout their careers in the healthcare field and in their personal lives. Students will create and present on the healthcare topic of their choice, and receive valuable feedback to help them examine their speeches and presentations, as well as those of others, to improve upon their in-person and virtual presentation skills.
